The Ryman is THE perfect venue! Friendly staff. Not a bad seat in the house. We can not wait to go back! Great tour.
I did the self guided tour of Ryman and that took about an hour and half including viewing the film prior to. There is a lot to read and plenty of pictures to take. I wasn't watching my watch much, but there is a guided tour of the backstage which takes 30 - 40 minutes maybe, and then a self-guided tour of the building with signs and some videos as you go from place to place. Likely the better part of 2 hours if you do it all. I only did the self guided tour-there is a movie9about 10 min and then you take as much time as you want in the auditorium. Tip: All of your saved places can be found here in My Trips.
A great thing to do whilst in Nashville. Do yourself a favour, and do the backstage tour. I would recommend you pay your entry fee and they will give you the time of the next backstage tour that is going. Ask that you have enough time to see the introductory video first it's only about mins long. It really is better to to see this short introductory video before you join the next back stage tour so you get the historical background of the Ryman before the tour. Then join the next backstage tour, and then take your time to wander about to do the self guided part. It's the best way to truly appreciate the significance and the history of this great auditorium.
We have an ATM available in the lower lobby, just outside the auditorium doors. Please ask an usher or security for assistance. The camera policy for shows at the Ryman is set by the event promoter or performer. Please check your ticket to see if the policy is listed. If photography is allowed, you may bring in a digital, disposable or 35mm camera. Professional cameras with detachable or telephoto lenses are prohibited.
